Prague is a bustling city. Adventures, festivals, events and happenings await around every corner. Exploring the Czech capital can get quite a bit overwhelming. Luckily, Prague also offers many spots to relax, unwind and rebalance. Are you in need of a little relaxation? Follow us on a journey through Prague’s serene side.
Enjoy a Riverside Walk to Přístav 18600
You don’t want to leave the city but need to get out of the crowds a little? How about a river walk with a twist, then? Leading away from Dlouhá třída’s river bank, a walk towards Rohanský Ostrov is just what the doctor ordered.

You can either access the island by turning right before crossing the Štefánikův Bridge and follow the trail along the Vltava or take the ferry (a DPH transport ticket suffices) from Pražská tržnice. You will then be rewarded with a green spot with no crowds and a fully equipped bar. Přístav 18600 offers cold drinks and draft beer right by the riverside. And in order to enjoy your beer, you can either get cozy on one of their logs or the wooden tables between trees.

When you are done relaxing and listening to the calming riversounds nearby, maybe it’s time for some beach volleyball? After all, sports can be relaxing for the brain, too! The green spot also offers a field on which you can play the latter and enjoy a beach day without having to buy the plane ticket to get there.

You can also access the place by bicycle and/or longboard, if you don’t want to walk. A perfect little hub to relax and clear your mind!
Location: Rohanský ostrov 8, 186 00 Praha 8
Opening Hours: Mon-Fri 10.00 – 22.30
Walk to Draháňské údolí & Vyhlídka Špička
You would rather spend the day outside? Not a problem at all! Prague is full of parks and green spots that are just perfect to relax. Besides the obvious ones like Divoká Šárka, Obora Hvězda or Parukářka, spots like Draháňské údolí & Vyhlídka Špička are just perfect to unwind, relax and get away from the crowds.

If you really need a half day to yourself, you should definitely set out for the journey to Prague 8. Along the river meanders a walking and biking track, passing several refreshment stands that beg to be sat down at. As you follow the path, you will eventually get to what is called “Black Rock”. Nature carved the rocks in this area just beautifully and a mere walk to the spot is relaxing. At the intersection that follows, look out for the sign “Draháňské údolí“. After entering the forest, turn left, cross a little, spluddering stream via bridge and follow the path leading uphill.

A short climb up the rocks reveals a beautiful view point. Please be careful when accessing the rocks, as they are not fenced in! A nice little nest – overlooking the Vltava and its surroundings – awaits behind a few bushes. Whenever you are ready, leave the same way as you came up. And once you are in the area, you might as well follow the trail to the mill up in Troja.

You can access this sweet spot by bike, longboard, on skates, foot and even by public transport and find energy in nature’s cradle.
Visit Nový Svět
This spot lies right behind the buzzing Castle area. A mere few meters up the hill, hundreds and thousands of visitors are exploring the Castle grounds, while down here, a whole different world goes about its day. “Nový Svět” (which loosely translates into ‘New World’) seems like a fitting name for this peaceful and uncrowded area. Barely any people, beautiful, old buildings and a cute coffee shop are part of the area that will definitely give you a bunch of relaxed hours.

The namesake of the area serves specialty coffee, delicious buchty and other delicacies along with 2AD ice cream that is to die for. Sip your cup of coffee on the street side and take in the ambiance of the 14th century era or overlook the hidden garden on their small balcony. A few hours of serenity and peace guaranteed!
Experience an alternative cinema: Kino Aero
If you want to forget the world for a couple of hours and only think of what the hero in a movie will do next, Kino Aero is definitely your go–to place. The hip, alternative cinema is not only a plan for rainy days. Their big outside seating area, lovingly hung with colorful lights in the night sky, invite you to stay a little longer than just for the movie. On top of that, they also serve Soup from their ‘Polevkarna’, which is integrated into the building.

Besides good coffee, draft beer from Prague and sweet delicacies to go with the coffee or homemade lemonade, Kino Aero’s program is always full of interesting, thought-provoking movies that never make it into the big cinema towers we know. So get yourself to Prague 3, enjoy the outside seating area – which seems secluded from the rest of the world – and enjoy an extraordinary cinematic experience.

Prague is a city that offers much more than its famous sights and lively atmosphere. Whether you’re seeking a quiet riverside retreat, a peaceful park, or a cozy café away from the crowds, the Czech capital has plenty of serene corners to help you unwind.
